Life’s Unforeseen Turn
Whew! Life took an unexpected turn in early March, shifting my focus from full-time entrepreneurship to full-time caregiving. My dad, previously enjoying perfect health, fell victim to a severe kidney infection, leading to septic shock and the shutdown of multiple organs. He mistakenly thought he had the flu; instead, his condition deteriorated rapidly.
A Life-Changing Incident
He suffered a sudden fall in the bathroom, breaking both ankles, leaving him unable to walk and reliant on a wheelchair. It’s been nearly two months of recovery, involving numerous doctor consultations for clearance before undergoing ankle surgery this week. This period has been challenging, yet thankfully, his health is improving.
Gratitude for Online Business
During these tumultuous times, I’ve found immense gratitude for my online business. While March was largely a wash in terms of business activities, it’s shaping up to be one of my best years. In February, I achieved a significant milestone with $10K in revenue from Merch by Amazon and over $13K in total print-on-demand sales across various platforms.
Merch by Amazon: A Cautionary Tale
It’s crucial to note that while Merch by Amazon offers exciting opportunities, it is not a guaranteed income stream. I’ve invested significant time in this endeavor, and income fluctuations are common. As a student once advised, treat Merch as vacation money; don’t rely on it solely! Nevertheless, I’m passionate about this avenue.
Record Months with PSP Courses
Similarly, my PSP courses have also performed exceptionally well, surpassing affiliate income as my primary focus. This shift aligns with a long-standing business goal of mine, diversifying revenue streams. Podcasting remains my primary promotion method for these courses.
The Work Continues After Course Launch
A valuable lesson from my students is that the work doesn’t end after course launch. Just because your course is live doesn’t mean it’s optimized for student success. Some students may struggle with areas you find straightforward, and feedback is essential to refining your course content.
Staying Connected with Students
This year, I introduced weekly strategy tips for my Merch Course students, fostering better engagement and support. This new approach has been beneficial for both myself as an instructor and several students.
